Personal Data Protection and Privacy Policy

SUPEREAD YAZILIM ANONİM ŞİRKETİ (MERSIS NO: 0784072102700001) (“the Company”) requires the processing of certain personal data to continue and enhance the quality of its Supereadkids (“Supereadkids”) service offered through supereadkids.com, learn.superead.com and mobile applications. Believing in the necessity of carefully processing these data, we are aware of our responsibility to take the necessary measures to protect the confidentiality and security of this data. The Company processes the data of all real persons associated with the Company, including those who use its services and products, in accordance with Law No. 6698 on Personal Data Protection (KVKK) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

This notification explains which personal data are processed, for what purposes, and how.

What personal data do we process and how do we collect them?

Parent (account holder) information: Details such as full name, email address, phone number and country of residence required to create and manage a Supereadkids account. This information is provided by the parent or guardian at the time of registration.

Child (student) information:A Supereadkids student profile is created by the parent or guardian and contains the child's first name, age, English level, a username and a PIN used for signing in. We deliberately collect as little information about children as possible.

Usage and learning data: Information such as lesson attendance, learning progress, vocabulary learned, teacher feedback, homework results and in-app activity is collected as a result of use of the service.

Lesson data: Live lessons are held over video conferencing (Google Meet). Lesson schedules, teacher notes and — where explicitly arranged — lesson recordings are processed to deliver the service.

Data of website visitors (“Visitor”): Data such as IP address, browser information, and country of origin of people visiting the website are automatically collected by us. In addition, traffic data is processed to fulfill legal requirements under Law No. 5651.

What are the special categories of personal data processed by our Company?

Supereadkids is a service designed for children. Data related to users under the age of 18 are considered special categories of personal data under relevant legislation. Child accounts can only be created by a parent or legal guardian, and all processing of children's data relies on the consent and supervision of the parent or guardian.

How and why do we process personal data?

The Company operates a platform for live online English lessons and supporting learning content for children. Processing personal data is necessary for the delivery of this service. In line with the importance we give to the protection of personal data, we take care to process as little data as possible.

Data such as the parent's full name, email address, and phone number are kept for user authentication, communication about lessons, and access to the system.

Data such as name and address of users may be processed for issuing invoices and fulfilling other financial obligations.

Learning data of students are processed to match students with suitable teachers, track progress, and report that progress to the parent. Data of Visitors are processed for analyzing and improving service efficiency, as statistical data whenever possible, and for storing “traffic information” required under Law No. 5651.

Commercial communications are not sent without permission. Electronic communication permissions can be withdrawn by contacting our company, through our website, or via the Permission Management System (İYS). The Company can send email to users about updates related to lessons, bookings and service changes.

How long does our Company process personal data?

Data related to users are stored for as long as the account remains active. When a parent requests account deletion, personal data are anonymized or deleted within a reasonable period, except for legal obligations and the Company's legitimate interests. Personal data of Visitors are stored for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 2 years, as per Law No. 5651 and related legislation.

With whom does our Company share personal data?

User data is not shared with third parties as a rule.

Teachers on the platform can see the information necessary to deliver lessons: the student's first name, age, level, learning progress, and the parent's contact details for lesson-related communication.

Individuals and institutions providing software development, database management, technical support, etc., to our Company can access company databases and therefore personal data to a certain extent. In such cases, third parties are required to commit to comply with this privacy policy, and necessary measures are taken.

Payment and billing information of users are processed by the payment institutions the Company works with (such as Stripe). Card details are collected and stored by the payment institution, not by the Company.

Lesson scheduling and video conferencing are provided through Google services (Google Calendar, Google Meet); the data required to create lesson invitations (name, email, lesson time) is shared with Google for this purpose.

Requests from legally authorized courts and administrative authorities for personal data are met to the extent of the request. Your personal data are not shared with third parties and institutions not listed above for marketing or other purposes without your permission.

Where are your personal data stored?

Ensuring the security of your personal data is our priority. These data may be stored in data centers of reputable domestic and foreign organizations that provide data hosting services (such as Railway, Neon, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud). Where necessary for security, your data will be stored encrypted. You can contact us to find out which company hosts your data.

What are the rights of the data owner?

As a data owner, you can benefit from all the rights granted under the Personal Data Protection Law and the GDPR, including:

  • The right of access: You can obtain a copy of your data held by the Company at any time, and request information about how your data are processed.
  • The right to rectification: You can change incorrect or outdated personal data at any time.
  • Rights to erasure, restriction of processing, and objection: You can always request the deletion of your personal data or the cessation of their processing.
  • The right to data portability: You can request a copy of your data suitable for transfer to another organization at any time.
